Fflam Festival - Scorching Swansea with its Welsh Flame - POSTPONED
This festival has been postponed - festival organisers statement:
"Due to consistently bad weather conditions over the last few weeks, we regret that the Fflam Festival has been postponed. This has been a hard, but well considered decision and we believe it is the best one for all concerned. Due to the bad weather, we have been delayed in putting the infrastructure in place and it is a big concern that the weather conditions will hugely dampen the experience we want to give all our festival goers. Postponing the festival will mean that we can give everyone the Fflam festival experience they deserve, bands, organisers and festivalgoers alike. We expect the new date to be at the end of the summer and are doing all we can do get everything reorganised as quickly and efficiently as possible so that we can confirm the date within the week. Full refunds will shortly be available from point of purchase for anyone who wishes to take this option, but we would like to reassure everyone that the festival WILL take place and encourage them to await further information on the new date before making this decision"
Wales is gearing itself up to take centre stage on the festival circuit this year as a brand new major festival is ready and waiting to set Swansea alight .
From Friday 13th to Sunday 15th July - Fflam is set to scorch the stunning Singleton Park blazing a very bright trail and bringing a very welcome warm glow to the valleys and beyond.
Fflam is a Welsh word - translating it to English it means flame - it certainly looks like festival organisers Straight Music have set their sights firmly on bringing a
sizzling
new event to Wales this year. Make no mistake about it, these people are serious about their festival and the potential that Wales has to match the other big boys out there - in fact there is a stated aim in mind to bring a much needed and wanted regular major event to the Welsh countryside.
Festival promoter John Curd of Straight Music has said : 'Our aim is that Fflam will become to Wales what T in the Park is to Scotland. We see this as a long-term investment in Wales, driven by our passion for quality music and giving great value for money. As well as giving locals the chance to see some of the best live bands around, we are also dedicated to nurturing new talent and the full line up will reflect that. Fflam will put Wales firmly on the festival map for years to come!'
We all know that T In The Park is an award winning festival that has rapidly grown into one of the most important, critically acclaimed and well loved music events in the UK - so can Fflam really become Wales's very own answer? Well - there certainly is the need for a major festival in the area and Fflam looks like its going flat out to fill a big gap in the market.
Fflam will ignite in July with its blazing trail rocketing all the way to Swansea Bay and bringing with it the very best in indie, rock and dance music, it will welcome 30,000 festival goers, offer multiple stages, and promises superb camping facilities that will have its own late night entertainment. The organisers are also planning a regular shuttle service between camp and festival site so you'll be able to get from your festie 'home' to the centre of activity with ease - relaxed and ready to roll to some fantastic live music!
There will be 24hr shops, refreshments and welfare facilities. The site will be secure and patrolled.
The first confirmations have been made, and we can look forward to seeing Keane, Manic Street Preachers and the Levellers on the Friday and Saturday will bring Placebo, Feeder and Enter Shikari. The Sunday headliner has yet to be announced along with many other exciting support acts.
Burn baby burn.....we just can't wait for this one and we'll bring you news as soon as its released - there's a lot more to come and a lot to look forward to - looks like Straight Music are pulling a blinder!
