Montrose Music Festival is a not for profit, volunteer organisation, dedicated to promoting free live music of all styles and genres, and at all levels, in Montrose and surrounding areas. Many of the free live gigs played during the festival are hosted in the pubs, clubs, hotels and other suitable venues around Montrose, although ticket entry concerts and other, larger events, are usually held in Montrose Town Hall.
Gigs will be hosted all weekend in official venues throughout the town, featuring live performances of all styles from top local and national bands and musicians. As well as some hosted traditional music sessions, there will be open sessions in some of the official venues between gigs for those that want to bring along an instrument and either start up a session or join in on one.
Montrose is Situated on the picturesque coast of the north east of Scotland between Dundee and Aberdeen, it is easily accessible by road, rail and bus.
